The black wide headband

This nineties trend is back. Which is a good thing... at least for me. I'm growing out my bangs (!) which is a pain in the butt so I'm quite happy to see the wide headband back in fashion, if not only for pure practical reasons. Danish blogger Andrea Petrea (bottom picture) manages to pull of two trends in one hairdo: The long bangs and the wide headband... what's not to love? :)

The long bangs

Growing out bangs is painful. That stage where the bangs are neither short or long.... and when you pass people on the street and you think they are looking at you funny... you just want to scream "YES I'm growing out my bangs!!" Well not any more. The long bangs are sort of  like the ombre hair color, where it looked like you were in this weird stage of trying to decide whether or not to grow out highlights - before everyone started to color it that way on purpose. This is kind of the same concept... People are now cutting long bangs. Just do a middle parting and you are totally on trend!

Hair inspiration

Þessar eru nú alltaf frekar flottar og Flashdance og 9 og hálf vika eru auðvitað klassískar myndir og tískan í þeim hefur verið heilmikill innblástur í gegnum tíðina. Hárið á bæði Kim og Jennifer er ótrúlega flott - man einhver þegar maður var alltaf láta setja í sig permanent? Anja Rubik er eins og blanda af þeim báðum í þýska Vogue.

These ladies are always gorgeous and of course both Flashdance and 9 and 1/2 weeks are classic movies and endless fashion inspiration sources. I really love both Kim's and Jennifer's hair styles - does anyone remember when a perm was the hottest thing? :) Anja Rubik's hair in German Vogue is like a tribute to both of them.
