Freezy

Freezy
A little Yeezy inspiration for you, since we will probably not be getting any of those insanely priced pieces that have already hit the stores. The sporty, normcore theme is something I can relate to though and something I'd like to wear in the cold. Last sunday I woke up to tons of snow..I was staying in a summer cabin and it would have been more practical for the long afternoon walk had I brought some (or all) of the above items with me. Winter is apparantly here and it's freezy ;)

Her style - The Fashionpolish

One of my all time favorite blogs is Sidsel Alling's blog Fashionpolish. I've been following (stalking) her for a while and she always inspires me with her simple but on point ensembles. What I love about her outfit posts is that she is very unpretentious, laid-back and consistent in her choices. You don't see her standing in a doll like pose with a pout, waving the latest designer it-bag. Black, grey and navy are her go to colors and she wears sneakers most of the time, like many of her fellow Danish fashion bloggers (I'm digging the determined practical style of the forever bicycling Danes). Her style can be described as minimalist and hardcore normal at its very best :)

Cinderella never asked for a prince. She asked for a night off and a dress!

I'm looking for the perfect black lace dress - any ideas where I can find one? I am counting on the shops will be full of all kinds of lace garments in the fall:-)

The real life Carrie Bradshaw...!

It's been a while since we saw some new SATC material, so we can only imagine what Carrie would be wearing right now. If anyone reminds me of Carrie it's Brazilian blogger Martha Graeff. All her outfits look like they have been impeccably styled by Patrica Field!
Check out her blog here

Sharper and Darker

I haven't done my eyebrows in years other than just plucking out a stray hair here and there. Now that I´m getting older (or maybe it's just fashion) I think it is time for a chance. As we know  well shaped eyebrows can make dramatic difference in your appearance because they in fact frame your face. According to the Eyebrow Queen Anastasia there are a few rules to follow so I will.  Here you can see her do Oprah's eyebrows

Sleep

My house is a mess today (as you can see here on instagram). We are switching rooms, my 23 years old are moving back home.  We had a spare room that used be our bedroom but for the past two years it has turn into storage. Now my living room is packed with boxes and...   So here are some images of inspiring bedrooms to get me in the mood for some bedroom decoration:-)

In the box

Want to know what Anna Wintour editor of American Vogue is wearing today? She is wearing a knee length, short sleeved, round-neck, printed dress (Prada), nude sling-back pumps (Manolo's), a crystal necklace, big black sunglasses and sitting on her head is the perfect blown out bob. Want to know what she'll be wearing tomorrow? Same thing. We are not talking about having a certain kind of style like let's say Kate Moss or Laura Bailey. We are talking exactly the same outfit every day. So why the sartorial lethargy? This woman sits front row at every fashion show, is friends with all the biggest designers alive and thus has access to every piece of garment you could ever only dream off. She works in fashion for crying out loud...which is supposed to be creative and constantly changing. My guess. She is a workaholic, holds a powerful job with a huge responsibility, she is structured and knows what feels comfortable yet presentable and  knows what suits her body type. This is almost no different from the suit and tie combo every business man wears every single day. Just the feminine version. So what she really is, is first and foremost, a businesswoman. Want to know what she never wears (aside from an all black outfit)? A bag. Why? Probably because there is no time for clutter. So even though my man repelling self might think that Anna Wintour has the worst style and most out-dated and boring outfit(s) known to mankind. She still holds the most powerful position in fashion. Respect.

I'm sorry miss Olivia Pope!

Strong female T.V. characters keep on inspiring women's wardrobes as they always have. My own wardrobe was, while I was still a teen  inspired by the ever stylish Lisa Bonet aka Denise Huxtable. Especially during the Different World seasons. I taped every episode, watched them again and again and paused on each new outfit Denise wore and analysed it to pieces. My next silver screen crush was Carrie Bradshaw, but since then nobody has come even close to inspire me the least. Even Claire Underwood doesn't do it for me. Let alone Olivia Pope. Don't get me wrong, I've watched Scandal to oblivion, but those slacks... Ugh! A few days ago I noticed a Facebook status from one of my male friends, stating: "It's not hard to find your feminine side while watching Olivia Popes wardrobe choices".  I went: Seriously bro!?! I mean Kerry Washington is a fine woman but Olivia Pope's style choices are so sterile it kind of hurts. Well that's my opinion and there might be a good reason that there is now a term in the (urban) dictionary that rhymes with fortuneteller. I give up - My name is Eva and I'm a man repeller. Above are some non television related, inspiring goddesses, that have some admirable style, a good imagination and, last but not least, the man repelling factor :)

French findings

French findings

I'm going to Lyon in June. This will be my third time in the beautiful French city and I can't wait to go there. Most of all I'm looking forward to eating and drinking (!). These are the restaurants i plan to visit (I've been goggle-ing): L'ange di vin, 13 Rue de la Monnaie, 69002. Lello, 231 rue Paul Bert, 69003. Balthazar, 7, Rue des Pierres Plantées, 69001. Les trois Dômes, 20 Quai Gailleton, 69002 (for the view). Mozzato, 63 Rue Mercière, 69002 (lunch-time, for the Mozzarella and rosé). Well, let's see how good I am at following my own plans.  In addition to eating, drinking and strolling the pretty streets of Lyon I might do a little shopping. My definitive stops will berepettoprintemps, diptyque and of course a pharmacy :)

Her style - Morgane Bedel

I made a "Morgane Bedel" style board on Pinterest while she was still working at French Elle. I couldn't understand why there were so few pictures of her on the internet then. Since, she has moved on to French Vogue, has just been featured on Garance's blog and finally we get to see some more images of her wardrobe and chic Parisian style. I love her tousled hair, her laid back outfits and the fact that she is often seen wearing the same thing more than once (oh man I'm so tired of seeing bloggers and fashionistas wearing expensive, expendable labels head to toe) and nobody wears a Canadian tuxedo and flats combo better then Bedel :)
