I'm sorry miss Olivia Pope!

Strong female T.V. characters keep on inspiring women's wardrobes as they always have. My own wardrobe was, while I was still a teen  inspired by the ever stylish Lisa Bonet aka Denise Huxtable. Especially during the Different World seasons. I taped every episode, watched them again and again and paused on each new outfit Denise wore and analysed it to pieces. My next silver screen crush was Carrie Bradshaw, but since then nobody has come even close to inspire me the least. Even Claire Underwood doesn't do it for me. Let alone Olivia Pope. Don't get me wrong, I've watched Scandal to oblivion, but those slacks... Ugh! A few days ago I noticed a Facebook status from one of my male friends, stating: "It's not hard to find your feminine side while watching Olivia Popes wardrobe choices".  I went: Seriously bro!?! I mean Kerry Washington is a fine woman but Olivia Pope's style choices are so sterile it kind of hurts. Well that's my opinion and there might be a good reason that there is now a term in the (urban) dictionary that rhymes with fortuneteller. I give up - My name is Eva and I'm a man repeller. Above are some non television related, inspiring goddesses, that have some admirable style, a good imagination and, last but not least, the man repelling factor :)

Nike free

When planning your vacation outfits the hardest thing to decide on is which shoes to pack. When you plan on doing some serious sight-seeing (shopping) forget heels, they will not take you anywhere. Not even Converse or Stan Smith (bless your soul) can do the job properly. The only shoes that I am able to walk in for a whole day are Nike free. Yes this plebeian shoe delivers what it promises, it makes you free. Free from blisters and sores and tired feet. But the thing is, it's quite hard to style. What can you wear that doesn't scream TOURIST or makes you look like an Easter bunny or soccer player? The answer is: Very sleek and very minimal outfits. Pull it of in black white and grey and you can get away with whatever color feet. Add stripes, leather or camo to your outfit to keep it more interesting.

Spotting - PVC

Shiny PVC pants pop up now and again and they have re-surfaced at least they did during the recent Copenhagen fashion week. This is a trend I'll pass even if I love this look :) Check out Diesel's current PVC pant model here

Isabel Marant Heleri coat

Say hello to the Heleri coat from Isabel Marant. It's from the fall winter 2014 collection and has already been put to use by two favorite Parisiennes, Geraldine Saglio and Morgane Bedel. Somehow this simple quilted coat is the perfect piece of clothing, with or without a belt. Love.

Þessi hrikalega fallegi jakki úr vetrarlínu Isabel Marant er farinn að sjást á götum Parísaborgar og það eru ofurskutlurnar Geraldinu Saglio frá franska Vogue og Morgane Bedel frá franska Elle sem eru með svona góðan smekk. Þessi látlausi jakki er einhvern veginn hin fullkomna flík með belti eða beltislaus.

Pick of the day

Hanneli looking gorgeous in a Boy. by Band of Outsiders blanket poncho. Zara has a shorter version that I really like. I'll be trying it on and making up an occasion in my head to which this will be the perfect item to wear.

Capucine's army shirts

This is such an easy look to replicate and so cool. Army shirts are staple in most vintage shops. Slightly over sized they make for a good jacket. Wear with skinny jeans and shades like Capucine :)

Hermannaskyrtur eru snilldar flíkur. Þær fást í nánast hvaða vintage búð sem er, Spútnik er með ágætt úrval núna. Ef skyrtan er aðeins í stærri kantinum er flott að nota hana sem jakka. Þröngar gallabuxur og sólgleraugu við - Það getur ekki klikkað :)

The statement sweater

Ég er oftast í svörtum eða bláum gallabuxum, svörtum skóm og svörtum jakka eða kápu. Aðallega af því það er fljótlegt og praktískt en líka vegna þess að mér finnst það klæða mig best. Það er gaman að brjóta upp lúkkið með einhverri einni flík sem sker sig úr og poppar mann aðeins upp. Þessar peysur hér að ofan gera það svo sannarlega. Svo eru sumir sem taka þetta alla leið - Áberandi peysa, klofhá stígvél, hattur, gallastuttbuxur og kögurtaska. Svoleiðis dress kallar á smá athygli :-) 

Most days I wear skinny jeans in black or blue, black boots and a black jacket. Mostly because it's practical and convenient but also because it makes me feel comfortable.  It's fun to break up that look with a piece that stands out like the sweaters above. If you need some attention you can also wear a sweater like that with thigh high boots, cut-offs, a fringe bag and a hat. Now that's a statement :-)

Black on black

Ég er yfirleitt svartklædd, ekki af því að mér dettur ekkert annað í hug, heldur er það minn stíll. Ég elska allt svart en ég er sjaldnast í öllu svörtu, yfirleitt er hvítur, grár, eða gallaefni með. Þessar skvísur hér að ofan eru alveg meðetta. Held ég fari að ganga meira í öllu svörtu...

I am usually dressed in black, not because I can't think of anything else, it's just my style. I love all black but rarely wear all black outfits,  I  usually mix it up with white, gray or denim. The chicks above get the black on black totally right. I am so going there...

Spotting red jeans

Kate Moss sást í síðustu viku í rauðum gallabuxum. Eins og alkunna er þá er Kate flott í öllu. Það sama á ekki við um okkur hin svo maður verður aðeins að hemja sig áður en maður stekkur af stað og gerir eins og Kate. Það er nú samt greinilega hægt að ná þessu. Flatbotna skór eða sandalar, hvítur eða röndóttur bolur og svartur eða dökkblár jakki ganga við. Ég er ekki enn farin að þora í hvítar þar sem ég er eins og rúllupylsa í þeim, en rauðar...? Það er alveg spurning.

Kate Moss was seen wearing red skinny jeans last week. As we all know, Kate looks good in anything she puts on. The same can not be said about the rest of us, so we have to restrain ourselves before we act on an impulse and do like Kate. We might be able to pull it of, wearing them with flats, a white or striped shirt and a black or navy jacket. I have not jumped on the white jeans trend due to the stuffed pork-roll effect, but red...I might consider.

The Woody Allen pants

Þessar víðu buxur eru flottar en samt alveg á mörkunum ;) Ég hef alltaf verið hrifin af víðum buxum en þær klæða mig ekkert sérstaklega vel (ekki frekar en Woody Allen) þess vegna geng ég sjaldan í þeim - mér finnst ég nánast alltaf vera í skinny jeans! En það má breyta til og þá koma afabuxurnar hans Woody sterkar inn :)

These oversized pants are kind of cool ;) I've always loved wide legged pants but they don't do much for me (same goes for Woody Allen) so I don't wear them that often - I hardly ever get out of my skinny jeans! But it's nice to change things up once in a while and then Woody's grandpa pants are a fun choice :)
