I'm looking for the perfect black lace dress - any ideas where I can find one? I am counting on the shops will be full of all kinds of lace garments in the fall:-)

Subway tiles in the kitchen

Subwayflísar eru alltaf að verða meira og meira áberandi í innanhússhönnun. Þetta eru sígildar flísar en nafnið á þeim, 'Subway tiles' kemur frá keramik físunum í neðanjarðarlestakerfinu í New York. Þær eru klassískar og flottar passa við allt :-)

  

Subway tiles are very in at the moment, you can see them everywhere. As you probably already know, subway tiles get their name from the ceramic tiles used on the walls of the New York City subway. They are so chic and classic and fit with everything :-)

Black on black

Ég er yfirleitt svartklædd, ekki af því að mér dettur ekkert annað í hug, heldur er það minn stíll. Ég elska allt svart en ég er sjaldnast í öllu svörtu, yfirleitt er hvítur, grár, eða gallaefni með. Þessar skvísur hér að ofan eru alveg meðetta. Held ég fari að ganga meira í öllu svörtu...

I am usually dressed in black, not because I can't think of anything else, it's just my style. I love all black but rarely wear all black outfits,  I  usually mix it up with white, gray or denim. The chicks above get the black on black totally right. I am so going there...

Her style - Keri Russell

Leikkonan Keri Russel klæðir sig frekar látlaust en er alltaf smart. Hún er samkvæm sjálfri sér og er greinilega búin að finna það sem henni líður vel í. Það er sjaldgæft að ég fái einhvern innblástur í minn eiginn fataskáp þegar ég skoða myndir af stjörnum á rauða dreglinum en Keri er alveg jafn fín og hinar skvísurnar en einhvern veginn samt meira töff. Svartar og hvítar flíkur eru bara alltaf klassískar og flottar. Leðurjakki, bláar gallabuxur og röndóttur bolur... í alvöru, þetta er ótrúlega einfalt :) Keri býr í fallegu húsi í Brooklyn ásamt eiginmanni sínum og tveimur börnum. 

Keri Russel's style is kind of plain but she always looks so good. She is consistent in the way she dresses and is obviously aware of what works for her. It is not often that I draw any inspiration for my own wardrobe when I look at pictures of the stars on the red carpet but Keri looks just as good as anyone but just a little more cool and somehow her style seems more attainable. Black and white outfits are just so classic and chic. A leather jacket, blue skinny jeans and a striped top... really, this is so simple :) Keri lives in a beautiful brownstone in Brooklyn with her family.

White sofa

Eins og áður hefur komið fram er ég ótrúlega hrifin af hvítum sófum  því þeir er eru svo tímalausir og smart :-) Ég er með Ektorp - sófa frá Ikea heima hjá mér og gæti ekki verið ánægðari. Það er hægt að taka utan af honum áklæðið og þvo það í þvottavél (er búin að eiga minn í 1 og 1/2 ár og  nýbúin að þvo utan af honum í fyrsta sinn). Síðan er líka smart að skella hvítu efni yfir gamlan sófa.

As I've mentioned before I am so into a white sofa bed There is something so timeless and chic about it :-) I have an Ektorp - sofa in my home and could not be happier with it. You can take the cover off and wash it in the washing machine (I've had mine for a year and have just recently washed the cover for the first time). It is also so chic to throw white fabric over an old sofa.

Ég elska að finna ný blogg. Ég fann eitt nýtt í gær, þetta hér og ég skammast mín smá fyrir hvað ég er spennt yfir því. Andrea Linett höfundur bókarinnar 'I want to be her' stýrir blogginu með sama nafni. Hún þekkir greinilega allar flottustu skvísur Ameríku sem deila ýmsum gersemum og góðum ráðum með lesendum. Þetta er eins og bloggútgáfan af 'Beðmálum í borginni' nema hér eru hvorki beðmál né skuldbindingafælinn Stóri að þvælast fyrir. Ég er búin að eyða nokkrum klukkutímum af þessum fína sunnudegi í að lesa bloggið og hér að neðan má sjá nokkra örlitla fjársjóði sem ég hnaut um við lesturinn.

I love discovering new blogs. Yesterday I found this blog and I am embarrassingly excited about it. It's run by Andrea Linett, co-founder of Lucky magazine and author of the book 'I want to be her'. Andrea obviously knows the coolest, most stylish women ever, weather it be designers, make-up artists or fitness instructors. It's like a reality blog version of Sex and the city (sans the sex and commitment phobics). I've spent a couple of hours reading through the blog (thank God it's Sunday) and so far my favorite feature is 'profiles'. Here are some of the tiny treasures that I pinned for later:

The knitted sweater

i

Mig langar svo í einhverja kósý prjónaða útilegupeysu. Íslenska lopapeysan er alltaf flott og það má útfæra hana á margan hátt en hún þarf að vera úr fallegum lopa. Kannski fæ ég bara einhvern til að prjóna mína eigin útgáfu sem er byggð á hinni klassísku lopapeysu. Ágætis innblástur í myndunum hér að ofan.

I really want a cozy knitted sweater. The Icelandic wool sweater is a classic and it can be modified in different ways if quality materials are maintained. Maybe I'll have someone knit me my own special edition. The images above are a good source of inspiration for this project.

Friday

Eftir erfiða viku gæti ég ekki verið ánægðari að það sé kominn föstudagur! Ég væri ekkert á móti einu glasi eða svo af þessum rabbarbara - basil - kokteil  -Kannski seinna (líklegra að ég fái mér rauðvínsglas). Hvað ætlar þú að gera um helgina?  Það verður nóg að gera hjá mér í garðvinnu með mínum heittelskaða, elda þennan girnilega spagetti rétt og ...  Góða helgi!

After a busy week I couldn't be happier that it is Friday today! I wouldn't mind one glass or so of this rhubarb - basil - cocktail  maybe later (I'm sure I will have a glass of red wine ). What are you doing this weekend? I will be busy, gardening with my husband, cooking this spaghetti dish and... Have a nice weekend!
