Workout gear
I'm getting better at dressing properly for the gym ;) About time. I've found what works best and this is my list of must-haves.
Gap sports-bra (available in many colors). Keeps everything in place and feels comfortable
Gap capris. The fabric is thick and the fit is tight so you'll not look like a sausage
Nike free shoes - the best shoes ever and the color selection is great
Nike tank top - Dri-fit, it stays in place and it's a good lenght so your tummy doesn't show
Nike engineered capris - love how cool they look
Dri-fit socks are a must ;)

Zumba love
Trying to find a work-out that doesn't bore you to death, can be a challenge. Exactly one year ago I took my first zumba lesson and I was terrible - at least- I was very self-conscious when I was going left and everyone else was going right. I really thought that this wasn't for me. I kept on taking classes because I loved the music and after a few sessions I got the hang of it. What I love about it is that it doesn't feel like working out. It feels like dancing, laughing, sweating, celebrating - all your stress evaporates and your body is happy and tired afterwards. If you want to try zumba I recommend that you give it a go 2 or 3 times at least. When you learn the steps better you really start working out and sweating. Zumba is such a great mixture of salsa, meringue, belly dance, cumbia, reggeaton, hip-hop etc. and there are many different zumba classes. I've taken classes in a few countries and it's so much fun. People have been asking me if they can come to class if they are rigid and lack rhythm...The great thing about zumba is that it isn't that technical - It´s much more about enjoying the music, moving, shaking and sweating. If you have been thinking about going - come on and join the party :)

What a feeling

I started doing pilates a few years back and my new found love is zumba. I never seem to do anything in moderation and lately I've been experiencing some degree of shin splints and I'm eager to get rid of it. I probably need to keep my legs warmer before and after class and lucky for me there is this garment called 'da leg warmer'. I am not sure if I can pull this thing off... It´s like with ear muffs (very stupid) - I feel very self-conscious wearing this 80's trend. I'm definitely not as graceful as Jennifer Beals in Flashdance!

WATER WORKS
We have the purest water here in Iceland and I'm grateful. My problem is that I have found it hard to drink a decent amount of water during the day. Usually ending up with a cup of coffee instead of water. Doing 3-5 cardio sessions a week where I sweat so much that I look like I'm coming straight from the shower, I had to improve my drinking habits. According to this hydration calculator I should be drinking 10 glasses of water a day! I´m guessing on my good days I've been drinking 5-6 glasses.
Occasionally I have bought some juices from The Berry Company and loved them and when I tasted their tea's I was sold. Now I blend my water (7:1) with the white or the green tea (it's supposed to be served unblended though)and it makes the water run down much more smoothly, helping me reach the 10 glasses a day.

Ps. I got a sample of Estee Lauder's BB cream yesterday and quite like it. It smells of cucumber and the consistency is quite thick. I have only tried it once and I was pleasantly surprised. I'll wait with a verdict though until I've used it for at least a week :) Haven't checked if it contains some 'evil' ingredients (I suppose at least perfume if it smells of cucumber). Found this educational post about chemicals in skincare products.
