Evren Tekinoktay is an artist who comes from a Turkish background and lives in Denmark. She has had a lingerie shop in Copenhagen for some years which has some affinity to her art which is very feminine, delicate and pretty. I'm drawn to all the shapes and colors and they remind me of some things from my childhood; books, cartoons, amusement parks and maybe even bed linen and wallpaper. All things that spell fantasy and fairytale. Evren Tekinoktay has collaborated with designer Stine Goya on some prints and she is a part of the Moonspoon saloon design collective. Jill Stuart´s spring/summer 2012 collection was inspired by Evren's art-work. I love that Evrens' work is easily translated into fabric. I think that she is a great inspiration both as an artist who is very feminine and also because she is very current and successful.
