Christmas shopping

Christmas presents

Just a few xmas present ideas. The pink smoke detector is the cutest thing and just what my home needs. I love scented candles, especially when they come in such pretty glass jars as these from Byredo and Voluspa. The little stool would fit perfectly into my tiny appartment...and the skillet, now that is a lifelong asset. Happy shopping ;)

In the kitchen - Slow cooked chicken

Ég fékk þennan gullfallega Le Creuset leirpott í afmælisgjöf fyrir nokkrum dögum. Það komu þónokkrir réttir til greina þegar vígja átti pottinn en hægeldaður kjúklingur varð fyrir valinu. Hægeldaður kjúklingur með pönnusteiktum snjóbaunum, klettasalati, parmesan, ólífuolíu  og örlítið af truffluolíu, alveg dásamlegur kvöldmatur á þessum rigningardegi :-) Ég byrjaði á því að bera ólífuolíu á kjúklinginn saltaði með Maldon salti og svörtum pipar, setti 1 bolla af kjúklingasoði í pottinn, eldað í ofni við 120° í 3 1/2 tíma með lokinu á, lokið tekið af og hitinn hækkaður í 180° í 25 mínútur. Steikti snjóbaunir á pönnu uppúr ólífuolíu smá salt og pipar. Borið fram með klettasalati, Parmesanosti, sítrónubátum og góðri truffluolíu.

I got this beautiful Le Creuset cast iron cookware for my birthday the other day. The first time I used it I made slow cooked chicken. I put some  olive oil on the chicken, salted it with Maldon salt and black pepper, put 1 cup of chicken broth to the pot, cooked it in the oven at 120 ° for 3 1/2 hours with the lid on, then removed the lid and increased the temperature  to 180 ° for 25 minutes. I served it with arugula, Parmesan, pan fried snow peas, lemon and a good truffle oil.

Bon appétit!
