Bling

Sjúklega flottir eyrnalokkar frá hinni dönsku Sophie Bille Brahe. Myndi líklega ekki fá mér litaða steina en finnst þeir samt æði. Ég skipti ekki oft um eyrnalokka en mig vantar ("vantar" er náttúrulega þvílíkar ýkjur)  eyrnalokka úr gulli til að vera með dagsdaglega og þessir eru málið. Þarf bara að safna aðeins lengur :)

Love these ear studs from Danish jewelry designer Sophie Bille Brahe. I would probably not go for the colored stones but love them anyway. I tend to wear the same earrings all the time but I need ("need" sounds ridiculous) some cute gold ear studs to wear everyday and these are the perfect ones. Just have to save up a little longer :)

Oh my Loquet!

How prrrrreeeettty is this! I adore jewelry ... but now I am in love. I am almost embarressed to be as excited about bling. So what is so special about this? First of all it is beautiful, feminine and gold. Second, you can design your own loquet yourself! The concept is a collaboration between Laura Bailey, who has been featured here on the blog a couple of times and jewelry designer Sheherazade Goldsmith. This goes straight to the top of my wishlist for when I win the lottery (this is not cheap stuff). The last image is my own design, consisting of a large heart shaped loquet with four charms; diamond encrusted moon, peace sign, the hamsa hand and my birth stone. I did another smaller, round one with my daughters initials and her birthstone. Go to the website and design your own!

Þetta er það fallegasta sem ég hef séð lengi. Ég er vandræðalega ástfangin af þessu skarti. Í fyrsta lagi er þetta ótrúlega kvenlegt og fallegt og úr gulli ;) En snilldin við þetta er að þú getur hannað þitt eigið nisti! Laura Bailey vinkona okkar og Sheherazade Goldsmith skartgripahönnuður sameinuðu krafta sína og þetta var hin undurfallega útkoma. Ég er að fara að kaupa svona þegar ég vinn í Víkingalottóinu (þetta er ekkert ódýrt). Síðasta myndin er af "mínu" nisti. Ég valdi mér stórt hjartalaga nisti og setti í það: hálfmána með demöntum, friðartáknið, hamsahöndina og mánaðarsteininn minn. Ég bjó til annað minna, kringlótt með upphafsstöfum dóttur minnar og hennar fæðingarsteini. þú getur farið á heimasíðuna og hannað þitt eigið!

Ég er alltaf að leita mér að hring eða hálsmeni með Hamsa höndinni á, sem ég get gengið með dagsdaglega- Hún á að veita manni vernd - hver þarf ekki á smá vernd að halda nú á dögum? :)

Ukranian born model turned jewelry designer Vera Balyura caught my eye while casually browsing through vogue.com. I fell in love with her eclectic-chic Coachella outfit and of course the jewelry (especially the ladder necklace!) - I did a little research on the girl and found out that she has an online jewelry store; verameat.com, and a flagship store in New York. Here are some of my favorite pieces. I would wear them together :)

FIONA CRIBBEN

Fiona Cribben is a multi-talented clothes and jewelry designer. Her design is brave, minimalistic/structured with some 'ethnic' flavor. Fiona is from Dublin, Ireland but has lived in Iceland since 2007. She studied fashion and textile and has worked for many designers including Calvin Klein. Above are pictures of Fiona, her home and her design. I love the carved shoes - I would probably not dare to wear them outside but I would wear them at home and spend all day admiring them! Brooklyn Bohemia

 

 

Jewelry- and clothing designer Gretchen Jones, the Project Runway season 8 finalist is one stylish lady. She lives in Brooklyn in this rad bohemian apartment which I am totally ready to move into! I love all the art-work on the walls and how creative, cozy and inviting it looks. I also really like her jewelry, especially the necklaces. Gretchen uses organic materials mostly in her designs, something she is very passionate about. Check out her web-shop here

I'm a huge fan of Kria (Icelandic for the birdie arctic tern) jewelry made by Johanna Methusalemsdottir an Icelandic jewelry designer living in Brooklyn NY. I have adored her lovely bones since 2009 and plan on adding to my collection soon - I'll probably get another necklace from the 2009 collection or a brass/cod bracelet. What I really like about her pieces is that they are kind of crude yet very delicate. I've met Johanna a couple of times and she's very energetic and funny.
