Top five for fall

September is already here which means that fall fashion is piling up in the shops. Key concepts this fall are texture and contrast. Fur, leather and wool mixed with a little metallic and feminine silk will carry you slowly but spectacularly into winter.

Black & Gold

Party people

Þetta hrikalega flotta partý dress er frá Stine Goya og ég ræð mér ekki! Loðnir skór við, perlueyrnalokkar og smá Patchouli ilmur og ég er til í allt ;)

This totally amazing party outfit is by Danish designer Stine Goya. Add pony-skin boots, pearl earrings and a spritz of Patchouli and you are good to go ;)

DREAMS

Dreams

Það er komið smávegis vor í mig þó það sé enn snjór á jörðinni (gerðu það farðu).  Þegar ég bjó í Danmörku sem unglingur þá fékk ég stundum ægilega Íslands heimþrá á vorin. Ég ímyndaði mér að ég væri að labba um í Reykjavík. Sá fyrir sumar götur, hús og náttúru ljóslifandi. Núna er ég með Parísar heimþrá - svakalega mikla. Parísarferð er númer eitt á óskalistanum mínum. Númer tvö er tími til að lesa "Just Kids" eftir Patti Smith sem ég gaf sjálfri mér í jólagjöf. Hlakka til að lesa hana. Númer  þrjú er pizza með kartöflum á Kexlandi, Hverfisgötu 12. Held að hún sé himnesk!

Vorflíkurnar eru komnar í verslanir
Mig langar í....

Appelsínugulu doppuskyrtuna frá Stine Goya - gæti verið meira vor í einni flík?
Hálsmen frá Carré
Skó frá Ganni
og tösku frá A.P.C.

... og nokkrar plúsgráður og þá er ég sátt (og eitt smáatriði enn - flugmiða til Parísar).

That's all folks :)

I have spring on my mind even though snow is still on the ground (please go away). When I lived in Denmark as a teenager I missed Iceland terribly sometimes. I remember imagining walking around Reykjavik and visualizing certain streets, buildings and nature. I have the same feeling for Paris right now. I miss that city so much. A trip to Paris is number 1 on my wish list. Number 2 is finding the time to read "Just Kids" by Patti Smith. The book was a Christmas present from me to me. Looking forward to read it. Number 3 is a potato pizza at Kexland restaurant, located on Hverfisgata 12, 101 Reykjavik. I'm thinking it must be divine :)

Spring fashion has arrived in stores
I'm wishing for....

The orange dotted top by Stine Goya - Could there be any more spring in a thread?
Black jeans from Lindex
Necklace by Carré
Booties from Ganni
and bag by A.P.C.

... and a little bit warmer days - then I'm good (and one more detail - a flight ticket to Paris).

That's all folks :)

To all the mothers...

Happy mother's day
Shorts/Ganni // Kimono/Stine Goya // Tank/Topshop // Socks/66°North // Sandals/Birkenstock (monterey) // Books/ The summer without men & The Paris Wife

Happy mother's day to all you mothers out there :) Above is pretty much all I need today. I'm searching for time to read those two books - the ultimate indulgence. A good cup of coffee would be highly appreciated also. My mother is spending mother's day with my daughter. They get along pretty well :)

Gleðilegan mæðradag! Hér fyrir ofan er allt sem ég þarf akkúrat núna. Ég þarf endilega að finna tíma til að lesa þessar tvær bækur, hlakka mikið til að njóta þeirra. Góður kaffibolli væri líka vel þeginn með. Mamma mín er með dóttur minni á þessum fallega degi. Þær tvær eru góðar saman :)

Go Goya

Stine Goya and her design has been featured a few times on the blog - so has my sister Thora. In the image above Thora has picked out her favorite from the f/w 2013 collection at the Stine Goya show room. Love her choice.

GOYA

Stine Goya

I've always loved Stine Goya's spring/summer collections. This time is no exception - more a fan of the look book styling (above) rather than the catwalk show... On my wish list is the the black/gold spotted ensemble and the harlequin printed gym-bag (I really, really need a gym bag - can't be seen running around with my gym clothes in a yellow plastic bag no more - it looks like I'm accidentally bringing the trash with me every time!).

Ladies with an attitude

Isabel Marant wearing her own design
Swedish designer Ulrika Lundgren wearing Rika
Danish Stine Goya wearing printed top and pants (love this outfit)

I didn't go to New York Fashion Week this time (or ever...) but have you noticed (on t.v.) that many designers that show up on the runway for two seconds at the end of their show, to take a bow, wear jeans and a t-shirt or something really, really casual!?
I always get so disappointed because I want to see what the designers - who are not models - would choose to wear from their own collections. All of the women above are on my favorite designer list and I love the pieces they are wearing in the pictures :)
